There’s little things in life you can do to treat yourself, for me I love going away, having treatments done, exploring new places and trying new food. So when the team at Hyatt Regency Birmingham invited me along to their influencer day to explore the spa, and enjoy afternoon tea I couldn’t say no!
Here’s a little about Hyatt …
“Located near Big Brum, Hyatt Regency Birmingham offers rooms with city centre views. Renovation of this striking-style building was in 2005. Among the various facilities of this venue you will also find currency exchange. The luxury rooms at Hyatt Regency Birmingham have en suite bathrooms and an in-room safe, a balcony and coffee/tea makers. Guests at the accommodation can enjoy breathtaking views. They are also complete with an electric kettle, a dishwasher and a fridge. The venue offers an extensive breakfast daily. Offering refined meals throughout the day and into the evening, Aria restaurant is the place to be visited. There is a snack bar and a 24-hour restaurant on site. The nearby restaurants are Aria Restaurant and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill. Birmingham New Street railway station is 10 minutes on foot from the hotel. A wellness area, a steam room and a solarium allow you to have a nice relaxing in the accommodation during your stay. It also offers a gym and a fitness centre for active guests.”

I arrived at the Hyatt Hotel just off broad street at 10am. I made my way down to the next level where the spa was located in the hotel. instantly I felt like I’ve left the rush and manic scene of the city centre for a more chilled and relaxed environment. At the Amala Spa you can enjoy, the pool (including a hot tub and sauna) a gym, and treatments from the spa, which also includes nail treatments.

I was greeted by the Lovely Becky head of marketing who took me through to the changing rooms, where I met some fellow local bloggers. I was also given a robe and slippers! (the best part about going to the spa has to be the robes!) Once changed we then all headed out to the pool! the pool area was a dream, the deco included greenery, and wooden furniture. The perfect outside but not outside vibe. In the pool area there was the main pool, the hot tub, sauna and the showers! Alongside this there was a range of places to kick back and relax! We were given roughly two hours to do as we pleased in the pool area, I checked out the hot tub, however I wish I went for a swim as I use to go swimming all the time and it’s been so long! But the hot tub was amazing. It was great to just sit back and relax and take some time to chill.

After enjoying our time in the pool area, we then made our way back to the changing area, got ready before heading into the actual Amala spa. In this part you can find a nail studio, sofa area, and of course rooms to enjoy treatments. The vibe and chill atmosphere as soon as you went into this part was amazing, the lighting was dimmed and you instantly felt relaxed. We were introduced to a manager from Comfort Zone, a brand I hadn’t heard of before! but basically Comfort zone is a brand that’s only used in Spas. I’d describe Comfort zone as a more science based brand around skincare. Yes they could look at your skin and say yeah, you’re oily. But at Comfort Zone they use a camera with a range of lens which takes pictures of your skin which the naked eye isn’t able to see. Which in another light is able to show you exactly what’s happening with your skin.

It’s only recently I’ve really been looking into my skincare and my SPF. So anything like this where I can have a camera look into my skin I love! Because despite me not exactly being a skincare lover the past few years, my skin isn’t actually that bad! The outcome of my skin analysis was that – Overall I had very normal skin, however I was a high for hydration! Which did shock me as it was mainly on my jaw and chin area. But then I thought these are probably the areas I don’t actually pay much attention to! But also where I probably touch the most.

I honestly love discussing my skin now, and expressing what I want to improve. It’s also so nice to bounce off other brands ideas of how to help and prevent some of my problem areas. Comfort Zone then went on to show us a number of steps we can add into our night and day routines for cleansing and treating our skin. If you head over to my insta stories, you’ll be able to see us all cleansing our faces and using a mask! My skin honestly felt amazing after and I hated that had to put make up back on as I was heading down to London!

Pool DONE, Facial DONE! Now let’s get some food! Once we were all feeling relaxed with beautiful skin we then made our way up to the lobby of the hotel where the restaurant Aria was located! The restaurant was honestly stunning, the whole deco of greenery and bird cages was so just a instagram dream. We headed over to our table, where the table was set with our names and goodie bags ready for our afternoon tea!

At Restaurant Aria, every month they switch up their fruit of choice which they actually base their menu around. So this mont for afternoon tea it was all about strawberry! Luckily I bloody love strawberry so this was a perfect afternoon tea for me! Now I’ve had a fair few afternoon tea reviews. But this one at the Aria in Hyatt I set my expectations very high. But the guys at Aria really didn’t disappoint. There honestly wasn’t one thing from the afternoon tea that I didn’t like – usually there’s a sandwich or the scones aren’t that nice. But Aria earn’t a gold star from me.

The afternoon tea was served in bird cages, along side Prosecco and our choice of tea. I went for “strawberries and cream” which was a weird yet nice taste of tea. I don’t usually drink flavoured tea so to be honest I was leaning more towards the Prosecco which was crisp and went down a treat. I’m sure you’re also wanting to know what was the scones like? well we had a range of scones! chocolate, plain and sultanas. The chocolate ones were honestly amazing!
As you can probably see from the images the food looked amazing. and the taste matched it! The price for afternoon tea ranges from £24-£34. Which is think is well worth the afternoon tea at the Hyatt. Over all I loved my experience at the Alma Spa, and the Aria restaurant at the Hyatt hotel. I can’t wait to head back to the Alma Spa for a massage in the future and just take some time out. It was so nice to sit back and relax, with work being so stressful this was the perfect break I needed. You can book your spa day here.
