If you didn’t know by now…I love a good cocktail or five. So I happen to know my way around a few cocktail bars and some really quirky ones. I mean come on we all love a cocktail that is fancy as hell, and so worthy of a boomerang for the gram. In Birmingham there are some bars and restaurants that offer amazing cocktails. However one of my favourites has to be Lost & Found.

I have been to The Lost & Found for a number of occasions, birthdays, first dates, and even just an after work drink. The place is a dream that can cater for all three of these occasions. While I love the place for it’s quirky and super yummy cocktails…I was yet to try out the food! I’d always know that Lost & Found offered food, however I’d not gotten around to trying to menu, until now.

For the starters I went for the “GRILLED CHICKEN SKEWERS in Satay sauce with cucumber, carrot, spring onion and coriander” (£8.00) These were amazing! I loved the meat, and the carrot and sauce for the starter was just perfect I could of had two! However it was the perfect light meaty starter, to really get you excited for your main. My friend had the “SMOKED HADDOCK & SALMON FISHCAKE topped with a poached egg and dill hollandaise” (£7.00) I of course didn’t have this so I can’t comment but she said it was also amazing! it sure looked and smelt it from where I was! Over all we were really impressed with the starters. It’s not often I will go out and have a full three course meal as I don’t like to stuff myself too much. But these were perfect to keep us a bay before our mains.

Now time for mains….I was super excited about the mains as I’d already had a nose at the menu prior to my visit on the Tuesday and something had already caught my eye! At Lost & Found the food ranges from Pizza, to classic British food, to even curries! So the menu really can cater for everyone! I prefer these style of restaurants because sometimes I just don’t know what mood I’m in or what I fancy!
So for the mains I went for the “GLAZED DUCK BREAST stir-fried pak choi, spring onion, red pepper, sesame seeds and pineapple ketchup” (£16.50) And sweet baby Jesus this duck was amazing. I love duck and I really don’t have it enough. I remember having duck for the first time at a Chinese when I was younger and god ever since it’s been one of my favourite meats! While this was a usual dish I’d go for as I could of killed for a bowl of chips also (I know classy as ever) the dish actually filled me and was super yummy! While it was a little on the pricey side for what it was it sure was beautiful for my taste buds.

While I decided to go for something a little different, my friend played it safe but oh so good with a pizza! “BRIE & BACON maple bacon, brie, marinated mozzarella, red onion marmalade and semi-dried tomatoes” (£10.50) I got to try some of this soy can honestly tell you how good the pizza was. The toppings were a dream, the dough base was just right. I will go as far as to say it was better than a dominoes pizza.

AND THEN FOR DESERT. THE BEST PART BY FAR.
Now time for the best part, despite being very full it was then time for pudding! we both opted for a classic “WARM STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING in a spiced toffee sauce served with vanilla pod ice cream (v)” (£6.50) honestly I could of had three bowls of this dessert, the cake was perfect, the toffee sauce was even better, and the ice cream just topped it off. It was the ultimate comfort desert.
Now I’m sure you’re all drooling from the post so far, so how about something wet? let’s discuss the cocktails!

The thing I really love about Lost & Found cocktails is the menu, I’m one of them people which will happily order a cocktail just off the look of it. Got a feather in it, I’ll have one. This is definitely the case when it comes to the Lost & Found selection. My first option I went for was the “Ms Hettie G. Watson” This was a dream. My friend opted for a more juicy cocktail of choice…”Hopping The Rubicon” when it came to round two for a cocktail because despite it being Tuesday us girls needed our alcohol. We opted for – “Ms Victoria B. Darcy” and the “Picture Perfect” which is a super personalised cocktail where they come over and take a picture of your for the cocktail…hint the name “picture perfect” *winks*

Over all my visit to Lost & Found was amazing and I couldn’t recommend the restaurant more for food or even just for cocktails! Lost & Found also offer an Afternoon tea…which I’m desperate to try as I’m sure it is amazing! Lost & Found is super easy to find just off New Street.
