to talk about Glaucoma in support of
. With Glaucoma being in my family it would be a great way for me to share the word on the guide that has been put together by the guys at NRS Healthcare.
Over 300,000 people are expected to be living with undetected Glaucoma in the UK. Which is why I think it’s so important to get the word out so you can spot it sooner rather than later. Men are 16% more likely to gain serious sight loss. Glaucoma can really happen to anyone, at any time is doesn’t matter your age or your health. The way I look at it sight is such a precious object in our life. Like to not be able to see your loved ones again, to not be in control of where you’re walking and your safety. it really takes away all your
independence
in one go.
The guys at NRS Healthcare also did a interview with 81 year old Beatrice about her
expensive
with Glaucoma which is a serious read. “
A positive attitude
is especially
important when
you’re older. You’ve
got to get out there
and look after
yourself.”
I never really know what to say on posts about health… I don't actually know much about Glaucoma, but with that many people living with it, even if men are more likely to get it, I am definitely going to learn more… I want to know as much about health related things as possible now that I'm a dad
Such a great post, my Grandma suffered with Glaucoma so I have seen first hand how it affects people. Because of this my Mum and I are automatically tested for this when we go to the opticians x
Thanking for helping raise the awareness on Glaucoma. I didnt know much about it
Glaucoma really is such a prevalent eye condition and more people should be informed that it can happen to anyone at any time. It's very important to be screened regularly for glaucoma. Your eyesight really is a precious gift that should be protected.
This is such an important topic to share. Well done on speaking out about it and highlighting.
Fab way to raise awareness. I know nothing about glaucoma x
This is such a great way to educate people about this, as I never knew 🙂 x
I've never really thought much about it and it's because there isn't enough awareness. I think we tend to focus a lot on issues that are more well known about when really we should be raising awareness about things like this. I think this is a great post x
its nice to hear your sharing ive not actually hear dof this before
I've heard of Glaucoma but don't know too much about it. You're right though your sight is so precious x
Glaucoma was in my family too, or should I say is. great subject to cover. My Gran was blind for the last 14 years of her life. Awful x
There is Glaucoma in my family too, there definitely needs to be more awareness around it x
I didn't know that Glaucoma affects so many people and it's hard to think how life can be without being able to see. It's important to create this kind of awareness campaigns.
There seems to be very little information available about Glaucoma, well done to you for raising awareness 🙂
I never knew that much glaucoma. There need to be more information on it and be a wide spread discussion. xx
An older cousin of mine has glaucoma and it's awful. Informative post!
I think it is issues like glaucoma that we should know more about but dont x
I think we all take our sight for granted and I can only imagine how devastating it can be to lose it. Thank you for raising awareness x
such an important thing to get checked for – eye health is so important. Especially as you get older
I have heard of Glaucoma but I knew very little about it so thank you for educating me into this awful condition x
